Flip Mitten Sleeves feature dual layer mittens have a smooth silk outer layer that prevents skin damage due to excessive scratching and rubbing. The sleeve fabric is made of a bamboo blended fabric that gives just enough stretch for the everyday tug & pull usage. When the mittens are flipped closed, the inner layer of 0% cotton prevents fingers from scratching, while the outer layer of silk glides over the skin reducing skin damage. From eczema to chronic scratching, your child's skin has a chance to heal without the interference of little fingers scratching and damaging their skin. s can be used as eczema mittens or to prevent hair pulling, thumb-sucking and more. They can also be used alongside any necessary medications or creams. "This product is pure genius and absolutely wonderful!! ....This has been a life saver and a miracle! My little one would claw and hurt her face because her itching was so bad. With your product, her face has healed. She can no longer hurt herself, but she can still comfort herself when she itches. Thank you...thank you...thank you..." - Vivian No matter when scratching begins, Flip Mitten Sleeves can help end it by flipping the mittens to the closed position. Children are able to use their hands for activities with the mittens closed. Open them to continue with hands-free time when the scratching has ended.

No other solution has helped us more than this product. We went from a face covered in scratches and pus, to an infant with just a red rosy santa face. Every once in awhile he breaks out, but for the four weeks it's been near heaven. We've gone from almost constant fussing and screaming to a few hours of peace every day. And only a few disturbances in the night, where before it was almost every 30 minutes.
I mean, we tried swaddling him in sleepsacks (too strong for them, gets right out). I can't have my child restrained all day long like a burrito. a dozen kinds of mittens, socks, you name it, we tried it,. If we have mittens, we lost them. He pulls them off, or the velcro scratches his face. If we take them off when he's being good, then he scratches and we have to run and fight to get mittens off. It's super inconvenient. Whenever he scratches you are bound to not be near the mittens you need.
This is the only thing that works consistently. If we swaddle him to sleep and he gets his hands out, these don't come off like mittens while he is moving. If we feel he is getting frustrated and needs some touch time, then we don't have to hunt and fight to put mittens on. We just wrap these back around his hands. They don't fall off, they can't get lost easily. They do well being cleaned, and they don't smell yet from his blood and pus (unlike other mittens we've tried).
My only gripe is the weather. Eczema can sometimes be worsened by heat. These things bake your child alive. They are best for spring/late fall weather. If you have an older child, these are going to be way too hot to wear outside in the summer, unless you live in the North Pole with Santa.
So, my request to scratchmenot is to offer a range of cloth options for the shoulders and sleeves (keep the mittens the same). I'll be needing thicker ones come winter, but now I need more breathable ones now that it is summer.
The worst part about the itching is that he could cut himself, no matter how short his nails were cut.. our Houdini would get out of his swaddle at night and bloody himself and the bed around him. You can't imagine how horrific that is to find, unless your mom dealing with a similar situation.
These suits have been a lifesaver! While he can get himself worked up by the friction of rubbing, he can't bloody himself. It helps tremendously!
That being said, we bought the gray one with blue patterned mits, and the black one. The black one fits better, ( they're the same size ) and has much more give when you're flipping the mits over! We have had to hand stretch the gray one after it's done drying, ( delicate dryer / hang dry ) or it's a little too tight! Which is odd because the black one fits perfect! Just an interesting thing we've noticed…
I am considering getting the next size up in black, and because of our experience I would definitely steer away from the gray.. maybe we experienced an exception (seeing as the quality of the black), but it's worth considering!
